Permitted Testing Aids
When you report to the test centre, you must bring your:
- printed HPAT-Ulster Admission Ticket
- approved Identification document
- pencils and eraser
- blue or black pen for Section 3.
Bottled water is also permitted. All other items are prohibited in the test room.
Clocks are provided in the test room. Candidates may wear a wrist watch but any alarm or stopwatch features must be switched off.
Valuables such as wallets, keys and mobile phones (switched off) may be placed under the desk during the test. Mobile phones must not be worn on the body and must not be accessed during the test.
Candidates are advised to bring only essential items, as neither the test centre nor the HPAT-Ulster Office can be held responsible for the security of their belongings. There will be only limited space to store bags and candidates will not be allowed to access their bags until the end of the test.
Note: Mobile phones, calculators, dictionaries, highlighters, rulers, iPods, iPads, tablets, smart watches, audio or recording electronic devices of any kind, and bags will not be permitted in the test room.
Access to food (including sweets and nuts) earplugs or other medical equipment (eg support cushion) during the test will only be permitted due to a medical condition and can only be allowed if candidates have been granted by the HPAT-Ulster Office in advance for medical reasons.
Large spaces like test centres can be difficult to heat/cool. To avoid being too cold or hot, it is recommended to wear layers, which will allow candidates to adjust to their own comfort level.
